NO SUCH THING AS WOLVES
No Such Thing As Wolves is one of the Birmingham Hippodrome Production 'My First Musical' children’s shows, running from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. I worked with Birmingham Hippodrome team to bring the show’s characters to life, including promotional marketing materials, character design, colouring book, and animation.
The concept for the key artwork is set in a forest and features the main characters, Hettie Hedgehog and Sydney Squirrel, with themes of hibernation and a party, and wolves hiding behind the screen. The goal is for the artwork to be simple, easily recognisable, and fun, while appealing to children aged 3+ and families.
DEVELOPMENT
Below are the thumbnail key artworks I developed. Some elements were swapped, and one of the main characters, Hettie Hedgehog, was adjusted to look younger compared to the initial sketches.
The colour palette of the artwork reflects nighttime, as the setting occurs at the end of autumn with wintry elements. I aimed to create an overall atmosphere that remains fun and inviting.
